Creating Great Kitchen Interior Design Details

For me a stand out kitchen is all in the details, the small stuff the easily overlooked bits these are what makes the difference between an average kitchen and the kitchen of dreams. The mix of textures, finishes an eclectic vibe is what I love!

I want a kitchen that works hard and delivers all the services I need, but with the reality of two kids running around, a perfect streamlined kitchen is just not realistic for us. I want a lived in space, nothing too precious but with touches of magic. Here are some of my favourite details and don’t forget you can start with basics and just add a few details to keep the costs down.

Spending a lot doesn’t necessarily mean that it will look great! There is definitely an assumption that spending lots will make your kitchen stand out but realistically you don’t need to. Picking out the key pieces you feel want to make a statement and then work around them to create a cohesive look. There may be links through colour, texture or finishes that tie your scheme together.

Consider clever storage solutions and really how you will use the space. If you don’t have a plan of your kitchen start with this first, how will you use that space, what are the high traffic areas, look at accessing white goods, don’t complicate the same standing space with too many appliances as this will always be a bug bear no matter how great the space looks. After all design doesn’t just need to look and feel great to be living in, it needs to work and make life easier!
