Light Airy Bedroom Design

Light & Airy Bedroom Scheme

For me this is my favourite part of the house, a real break from the craziness two kids brings to the rest of our place. This room really wants to feel quiet, calm, refreshing and most of all clear. I don’t know about you but our place is filled with toys, stuff, things just all over the place that I really appreciate the sanctuary of a space for just us.

Now I know a simple white bedroom can be not the most exciting but for me this is all about a play on textures. Finding objects that have more about them than just a bold colour. I love the natural feel, especially here in Spain where the light is so good! For me good design is resolving the problems and creating something completely new in what really is just a box. Yes it can have great views or extra large windows, but really just some natural light and this place could thrive.

The hanging chair is by far my favourite part of this scheme I chance to quietly read and relax, plus make me smile every time I woke up and saw that gorgeous thing hanging there! There’s obviously some consideration required to using one of these ie. where can you hang it? Design enough room for it to be able to move, structural have you got enough support to take the weight, but would be a great additional to any interior space not only a bedroom.

We have hard floors throughout here which is perfect with the sand from the beaches but come winter months, I’m pleased to feel an occasional rug under my feet. For me these natural fibre rugs are ideal and fit in well with this design scheme.

Textured bedding or occasional throws give this space a feel of cosiness and the extra layers make the bed feel more sumptuous. The beauty of this interior is really in the simplicity of the scheme, there’s not over exaggerated design, just a collection of simple natural textured pieces that create a cohesive interior. Sometimes with design simplicity is key .

As always all products shown below as part of the shop the look have full links where to buy. All unaffilated, just pieces I’ve found in my wanderings that I feel would look fab in this design.
